Murata GRM1555C1HR50CA1D 0.5pF 50V C0G NP0 0402 Ceramic Capacitor 85 PCS
Full Description & History
Murata GRM1555C1HR50CA1D multilayer ceramic chip capacitor rated 0.5 pF and 50 VDC in the compact 0402 / 1005 metric surface-mount package. This device uses C0G / NP0 Class I ceramic dielectric technology, making it especially suitable for RF, oscillator, tuning, matching, filtering, and other circuits where capacitance stability and low loss are important.
The corresponding Murata GRM1555C1H 0.5 pF family uses a ±0.25 pF tolerance for the C tolerance code. C0G / NP0 construction provides very low capacitance drift with temperature, minimal aging, and considerably better electrical stability than high-capacitance Class II ceramic dielectrics.
Original Mouser packaging identifies Murata, 0.50 pF, 50 volts, 0402 package, multilayer ceramic construction, country of origin Japan, and date code 1718.
Lifecycle: ACTIVE.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: Murata Manufacturing traces its origins to Kyoto, Japan, where Akira Murata began producing ceramic capacitors in 1944. The company was incorporated as Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in 1950 and became one of the world’s leading manufacturers of ceramic electronic components, including multilayer capacitors, inductors, ferrites, filters, resonators, sensors, and RF components.
Murata played a major role in the miniaturization of passive components as consumer electronics, communications equipment, computers, and RF systems moved toward increasingly dense surface-mount construction. Its GRM series became one of the company’s major general-purpose multilayer ceramic capacitor families.
C0G, also traditionally called NP0, is one of the most electrically stable ceramic dielectric classes. Unlike higher-capacitance X5R and X7R materials, C0G capacitors exhibit extremely small changes with temperature, voltage, and time. This makes very small values such as 0.5 pF particularly useful in RF and frequency-sensitive circuitry.
A value of only 0.5 pF is significant in VHF, UHF, oscillator, impedance-matching, resonant, coupling, and compensation networks, where fractions of a picofarad can materially affect circuit behavior. Small C0G capacitors are therefore commonly used where designers need controlled parasitic-level capacitance rather than bulk energy storage.
The 0402 / 1005 metric package measures approximately 1.0 x 0.5 mm, allowing these capacitors to be placed very close to active RF devices and signal paths. Short physical connections help reduce unwanted lead inductance and parasitic effects at higher frequencies.
Original Japanese Murata C0G components remain useful bench stock for RF technicians, communications repair, instrumentation work, prototypes, and precision electronic circuits where dielectric stability is important.
Unused new old stock from legacy inventory. Packaging, age, and cosmetic condition may vary.
Pipeline quantities are informational and may change after arrival, inspection, sorting, testing, or donor teardown.
