RF Boneyard FAQ

What is RF Boneyard?

RF Boneyard is a specialized ham-radio parts, salvage, support, and repair-intake site focused on hard-to-find RF parts, donor pulls, radio boards, tubes, MOSFETs, relays, connectors, and bench-tested finds.

Are the parts new?

Not always. Many parts may be salvaged, donor-pulled, vintage, obsolete, hard-to-find, or bench stock. RF Boneyard tries to test parts before sale when possible.

Are there refunds?

Parts are generally sold as final sale/no refunds because electronic parts can be swapped, damaged during installation, or affected by unknown equipment conditions. Review the Terms page before buying.

What is Ham Shack Membership?

Ham Shack is the member area for serious hams and radio techs. Members can build a ham profile, upload an avatar, share shack photos, upload certificates, post/show wanted parts interests, and access future member-only tools and notes.

Can other hams see my uploads?

Only if you choose to make your ham profile public, mark uploads as public, and enable public uploads. Profiles are private by default.

Where do I edit my profile or upload photos?

Log in and go to My Account / Shack Profile. That page has the avatar upload, shack photos, certificates, call sign, radios, tools, and privacy controls.

How RF Boneyard Member IDs and Upgrade Benefits Work

Do I get a unique RF Boneyard Member ID?

Yes. Registered RF Boneyard accounts may receive a unique RF Boneyard Member ID number. Your Member ID is part of your account identity and is meant to stay with you. Paid benefits may change over time, but your RF Boneyard identity does not simply disappear because a plan changes.

Does my Member ID card expire?

Your RF Boneyard Member ID is a permanent account identifier. The card may show your member number, card status, and date joined/registered. Upgrade benefits are separate from the ID itself. If a paid plan ends, paid perks can turn off, but the Member ID remains tied to your account.

What do upgraded members get?

Upgraded RF Bench Pass members may receive benefits such as member discounts, special access to selected member-only or early-access products, first availability on certain limited parts when marked, Ham Shack profile features, wanted-parts interaction, member community tools, and other RF Boneyard perks as they are added.

Benefits can vary by plan and by product. When a product has a special member discount, early-access window, or paid-member rule, the product page will show the available benefit.

Are all products discounted for members?

Not always. Some rare parts, donor pulls, premium finals, hard-to-find boards, limited reels, or seller-listed items may have no discount or a different rule. RF Boneyard tries to keep member perks meaningful while still protecting scarce inventory and fair seller pricing.

What does “first availability” mean?

Some limited parts may be offered to upgraded members first, especially when inventory is scarce or when RF Boneyard only has a small number of verified pieces. This does not guarantee every item will be reserved for members, but it gives RF Boneyard a way to reward serious buyers and active supporters when certain products are marked for early access.

How does membership help with Wanted Parts?

Membership helps support RF Boneyard’s wanted-parts interaction system. Members can use wanted-parts tools and community features to show what they are looking for, reply where allowed, and help RF Boneyard understand which hard-to-find RF, ham, CB, and repair parts buyers are actively searching for.

What happens if my paid plan ends?

Your account and RF Boneyard Member ID remain. Paid benefits such as discounts, paid-member access, and certain member perks may pause or turn off until the account is upgraded again or manually adjusted by RF Boneyard admin.

Why have a membership system?

RF Boneyard is built for radio repair people, collectors, builders, and parts hunters. Membership helps organize serious buyers, member cards, Ham Shack profiles, wanted-parts posts and replies, future perks, and special access without turning the site into a generic anonymous parts bin.

Note: RF Boneyard membership perks are not a guarantee that a specific rare part will remain available. Scarce inventory can sell out quickly, and some items may be excluded from discounts or early-access rules.
