Full Description & History

55 PCS Panasonic ERA-3AEB9532V precision thin-film surface-mount resistors with a nominal resistance of 95.3K ohms in the compact 0603 package.

These are high-precision resistors with an exceptionally tight 0.1% resistance tolerance, 1/10 watt power rating, and approximately ±25 ppm/°C temperature coefficient.

Unlike ordinary general-purpose thick-film chip resistors, the ERA-3A series uses thin-film construction intended for applications requiring improved resistance accuracy, stability, and temperature performance.

The unusual 95.3K ohm precision value is useful in precision voltage dividers, feedback networks, measurement circuits, instrumentation, sensor interfaces, analog electronics, control systems, calibration networks, communications equipment, and other circuits where accurate resistance ratios are important.

The ERA-3A series is also designed for high-reliability applications and carries AEC-Q200 qualification for appropriate automotive electronic use.

The 0603 package measures approximately 1.6 x 0.8 mm and allows precision resistance networks to be implemented in compact surface-mount PCB designs.

The original Digi-Key distributor packaging identifies Panasonic Electronic Components and country of origin Japan. The distributor package is dated August 26, 2021.

LIFECYCLE STATUS: ACTIVE

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
Panasonic has been involved in electronic-component manufacturing for decades and became a major worldwide supplier of resistors, capacitors, relays, switches, sensors, and other components used throughout industrial, automotive, communications, instrumentation, and consumer electronics.

As electronic circuits became increasingly sophisticated, designers required resistor technologies that offered more than simply a nominal resistance value.

Traditional thick-film chip resistors are excellent for general-purpose applications, but precision analog, measurement, and control circuitry may require significantly tighter resistance tolerances and lower temperature drift.

Thin-film resistor technology was developed to address these requirements. A very thin resistive layer is deposited onto a stable ceramic substrate and precisely trimmed during manufacturing to produce tightly controlled resistance values.

The 0.1% tolerance of the ERA-3AEB9532V represents resistance accuracy approximately fifty times tighter than a conventional 5% general-purpose resistor.

Its ±25 ppm/°C temperature coefficient is equally important. Temperature coefficient describes how much a resistor's value can change as temperature changes. Lower ppm figures are desirable in precision circuits because resistance remains more consistent as equipment warms up or environmental temperature varies.

Precision values such as 95.3K ohms are commonly encountered in engineered resistor networks rather than basic hobby-value selections. Such values allow designers to establish specific amplifier gains, reference voltages, feedback ratios, sensing thresholds, and measurement scaling factors.

The development of precision resistors in miniature 0603 packages demonstrates how modern passive-component technology allows laboratory-grade resistance accuracy to be incorporated into extremely compact electronic assemblies.

AEC-Q200 qualification also reflects the increasing reliability expectations placed on passive components used in demanding automotive and industrial environments.

The ERA-3AEB9532V remains an active Panasonic component, allowing the same precision resistor family to support both existing equipment and current electronic designs.
