ITT 7420N Dual 4-Input NAND Gate TTL Logic IC DIP-14 Arcade Repair NOS 1 PCS
Full Description & History
1 PCS original ITT 7420N TTL logic integrated circuit in a 14-pin DIP package. Device is marked ITT, 7420 N, with production marking 7608.
The 7420N contains two independent 4-input NAND gates. This classic 7400-series TTL device was used for digital gating, control logic, address decoding, timing, video circuitry, signal qualification, and other logic functions in arcade machines, computers, industrial electronics, instrumentation, and early digital systems.
This listing is for one individual device. Two NOS devices are currently available.
LIFECYCLE: OBSOLETE. The original ITT-manufactured 7420N is a discontinued legacy semiconductor. The 7420 logic function has been produced by multiple semiconductor manufacturers, but original vintage ITT 7420N devices are no longer current-production ITT components.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
The 7420 belongs to the classic 7400-series TTL logic family that became one of the fundamental building blocks of digital electronics during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
Inside the device are two independent four-input NAND gates. The four-input configuration allowed several digital conditions to be evaluated simultaneously, making the 7420 useful in control logic, address decoding, timing circuits, video generation, enable logic, and other digital functions.
The 7420 logic function was used in classic arcade hardware during the discrete-logic and early microprocessor eras. Early arcade circuit boards often relied on large groups of standard TTL ICs for game logic, video generation, timing, memory support, input handling, and control circuitry before highly integrated custom chips became common.
The exact semiconductor manufacturer installed on an original arcade board could vary. This ITT-branded 7420N should therefore be considered a period-correct vintage replacement where a compatible standard 7420 TTL device is specified rather than being represented as the original ITT factory brand for every arcade machine.
Legacy or discontinued stock no longer in normal production flow. Future supply may be limited.
Pipeline quantities are informational and may change after arrival, inspection, sorting, testing, or donor teardown.
