ITT 7425N Dual 4-Input NOR Gate with Strobe TTL Logic IC DIP-14 Arcade Repair NOS 1 PCS
Full Description & History
1 PCS original ITT 7425N TTL logic integrated circuit in a 14-pin DIP package. Device is marked ITT, 7425 N, with production marking 762.
The 7425N contains two independent 4-input NOR gates with strobe inputs. This classic 7400-series TTL device was used for digital gating, control logic, timing, video circuitry, signal combining, decoding, and other logic functions in arcade machines, computers, industrial electronics, test equipment, and early digital systems.
This listing is for one individual device. Three NOS devices are currently available.
LIFECYCLE: DISCONTINUED. The original ITT-manufactured 7425N is a discontinued legacy semiconductor. The basic 7425 logic function has continued to exist from other semiconductor manufacturers, but original vintage ITT 7425N devices are no longer current-production ITT components.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
The 7425 belongs to the original 7400-series TTL logic family that became fundamental to digital electronics during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. The device combines two four-input NOR gates with individual strobe inputs in a 14-pin package.
Before highly integrated custom logic became common, arcade manufacturers constructed large portions of game circuitry from individual TTL logic devices. Chips such as the 7425 performed functions involving timing, video generation, game control, signal selection, and other digital operations.
The 7425 has documented use in classic arcade hardware and service documentation. It appears in Atari arcade circuitry and has also been documented in Cinematronics Tail Gunner and Exidy 440 platform board repair applications. These examples demonstrate the 7425's genuine role in vintage arcade electronics.
The exact semiconductor manufacturer originally installed on a particular arcade board could vary. This ITT-branded 7425N should therefore be considered a period-correct vintage replacement where a compatible standard 7425 TTL device is specified rather than being represented as the original factory brand for every game.
Legacy or discontinued stock no longer in normal production flow. Future supply may be limited.
Pipeline quantities are informational and may change after arrival, inspection, sorting, testing, or donor teardown.
Compatible Radios / Boards
Compatible Radios / Boards
Suitable for vintage electronic equipment requiring a compatible standard 7425 dual 4-input NOR gate with strobe. The 7425 function is documented in classic arcade hardware and may also be used in vintage computers, industrial controls, instrumentation, test equipment, and other digital electronics. Buyer should verify supply voltage, pinout, TTL loading requirements, board position, and exact circuit compatibility before installation.
