ITT 7408N Quad 2-Input AND Gate TTL Logic IC DIP-14 Arcade Repair NOS 1 PCS
Full Description & History
1 PCS original ITT 7408N TTL logic integrated circuit in a 14-pin DIP package. Device is marked ITT, 7408 N, with production marking 762.
The 7408N contains four independent 2-input AND gates. This classic 7400-series TTL device was used for digital gating, signal control, timing, decoding, interfacing, video circuitry, and other logic functions in arcade machines, computers, industrial equipment, test equipment, and early digital electronics.
This listing is for one individual device. Four NOS devices are currently available.
LIFECYCLE: OBSOLETE. Original ITT-manufactured 7408N devices are discontinued legacy semiconductors. The 7408 logic function remains available from other manufacturers and in newer logic families, but original vintage ITT 7408N devices are no longer current-production components.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
The 7408 is part of the original 7400-series TTL logic family that became one of the foundations of digital electronics during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. The device contains four independent two-input AND gates in a single 14-pin package.
AND gates perform a fundamental digital logic operation in which the output becomes active only when both inputs are active. Thousands of early electronic systems used combinations of 7400-series gates to create timing circuits, control logic, address decoding, video generation, memory control, and other digital functions.
The 7408 has documented use in classic arcade hardware, including Atari Missile Command and Midway Double Play. These types of arcade boards relied heavily on standard 7400-series TTL logic for control, timing, video, and supporting digital circuitry.
The 7408 function is therefore a legitimate classic arcade repair component. Exact factory installation of the ITT-branded version varies by equipment, so this ITT device should be treated as a period-correct replacement where a compatible standard 7408 TTL device is specified.
Legacy or discontinued stock no longer in normal production flow. Future supply may be limited.
Pipeline quantities are informational and may change after arrival, inspection, sorting, testing, or donor teardown.
Compatible Radios / Boards
Compatible Radios / Boards
Suitable for vintage equipment requiring a compatible standard 7408 quad 2-input AND gate TTL device. The 7408 function is documented in classic arcade hardware including Atari Missile Command and Midway Double Play. It may also be applicable to other arcade boards, computers, industrial controls, test equipment, and vintage digital electronics. Buyer should verify supply voltage, pinout, TTL loading requirements, board location, and exact circuit compatibility before installation.
