ITT 7400N Quad 2-Input NAND Gate TTL Logic IC DIP-14 NOS 1 PCS
Full Description & History
1 PCS original ITT 7400N TTL logic integrated circuit in a 14-pin DIP package. Device is marked ITT, 7400N, with production marking 762.
The 7400N contains four independent 2-input NAND gates and belongs to the original 7400-series TTL logic family. These devices were widely used for digital logic, gating, signal control, timing support, decoding, interfacing, and other logic functions in arcade machines, computers, industrial electronics, test equipment, communications equipment, and early microprocessor systems.
This listing is for one device. Seven individual NOS devices are currently available.
LIFECYCLE: OBSOLETE. The original ITT-manufactured 7400N is a discontinued legacy semiconductor. Although the basic 7400 logic function continues to exist through other manufacturers and newer logic families, original ITT 7400N devices are no longer current-production parts.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
The 7400 series became one of the most important families of transistor-transistor logic integrated circuits during the development of digital electronics in the 1960s and 1970s. The basic 7400 device provided four independent two-input NAND gates in a compact 14-pin package.
NAND gates are fundamental digital building blocks and can be combined to create many other logic functions. Because of this flexibility, 7400-series devices were used extensively throughout early computers, industrial controls, instrumentation, communications equipment, video games, and other digital systems.
The 7400N was also used in classic arcade electronics. Early arcade circuit boards commonly relied on large numbers of discrete TTL logic devices for game control, video generation, timing, sound support, memory interfacing, and other digital functions before highly integrated custom chips became common.
Original ITT-branded 7400N devices are particularly appropriate for period-correct repairs and restoration of 1970s and early-1980s electronics where matching the original semiconductor manufacturer or vintage appearance is desirable.
Legacy or discontinued stock no longer in normal production flow. Future supply may be limited.
Pipeline quantities are informational and may change after arrival, inspection, sorting, testing, or donor teardown.

Suitable for vintage equipment designed around standard 7400-series TTL logic and requiring a quad 2-input NAND gate. Used in classic arcade, computer, industrial, control, test, and general digital electronics. Buyer should verify supply voltage, pinout, logic family, loading requirements, and circuit compatibility before installation.
