Original Guv'nor production ran through the late 1980s into the early 1990s. Early examples were produced in England, while later production also included Korean-built units. The pedal was an important part of the sustained, singing lead tone heard on the title track, helping make the original Guv'nor one of the better-known Marshall pedals ov'nor Mk I guitar overdrive/distortion pedal circuit board from approximately the 1990 period.
