HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: Taiyo Yuden has been a major manufacturer of multilayer ceramic capacitors used throughout communications, computing, industrial, automotive, and consumer electronics. As electronic assemblies became smaller and more densely populated, high-capacitance MLCCs in the miniature 0402 footprint allowed designers to place effective local decoupling and filtering directly beside integrated circuits while using very little PCB area. The 0.22 uF value is commonly used for bypassing, power-rail filtering, signal conditioning, and noise suppression. The UMK105BJ224KV-F remains an active component and is not obsolete.
