TEXAS INSTRUMENTS TLC551CD 2 MHz LinCMOS LOW-POWER CMOS 555 TIMER SOIC-8 1 PC
$3.49
Texas Instruments TLC551CD LinCMOS general-purpose timer integrated circuit in an 8-pin SOIC surface-mount package. This listing is for one IC.
LIFECYCLE STATUS: ACTIVE.
The TLC551 is a low-power CMOS timer based on the familiar 555 timer architecture. It can be configured for monostable or astable operation to generate time delays, pulses, oscillations, clocks, repetitive timing signals, and control functions.
The device supports operation at frequencies up to approximately 2 MHz and operates over a wide supply-voltage range of approximately 1V to 15V. Its LinCMOS construction provides substantially lower power consumption than traditional bipolar 555 timers, making it useful in battery-powered, portable, control, and modern electronic applications.
Original Mouser Electronics distributor labeling identifies Texas Instruments part number TLC551CD and describes the device as a CMOS timer.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
The 555 timer became one of the most widely used integrated circuits in electronics after its introduction in the early 1970s. Its simple and flexible architecture made it useful for oscillators, pulse generators, delay circuits, alarms, control systems, test equipment, toys, industrial electronics, and countless experimental designs.
As CMOS semiconductor technology advanced, lower-power versions of the classic timer architecture were developed. Texas Instruments' TLC551 uses LinCMOS technology to provide familiar 555-style functionality while reducing supply current and supporting operation across a wide voltage range.
The TLC551 continues to be useful in modern circuit designs, repair work, prototypes, timing circuits, oscillators, pulse generators, LED controls, and other applications requiring a compact low-power timer.
Unused new old stock from legacy inventory. Packaging, age, and cosmetic condition may vary.
Pipeline quantities are informational and may change after arrival, inspection, sorting, testing, or donor teardown.
Compatible Radios / Boards
Suitable for circuits designed for the Texas Instruments TLC551CD and applications requiring a compatible CMOS 555-style timer in an SOIC-8 package. Useful for oscillators, pulse generators, delay circuits, clock generators, LED flashers, control circuits, test equipment, audio projects, communications electronics, industrial controls, prototypes, and general PCB repair.
Verify supply voltage, timing-component values, output-current requirements, PCB footprint, package type, and circuit specifications before substitution.
