Motorola MC68000P8 8 MHz microprocessor from the legendary Motorola 68000 family, supplied in the original 64-pin through-hole DIP package. The MC68000 implements Motorola's M68000 16/32-bit architecture with 32-bit internal data and address registers, a 16-bit external data bus, and a 16 MB direct addressing range. It operates from a nominal 5V supply and is intended for vintage computer, industrial, embedded-control, arcade, and other legacy 68000-based equipment.

This exact P8 version is rated for operation up to 8 MHz. The 64-pin DIP package makes it especially useful for repair and restoration of equipment originally designed around socketed or through-hole MC68000 processors.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
Introduced by Motorola in 1979, the 68000 became one of the defining microprocessor architectures of the 1980s and early 1990s. Its design combined a 16-bit external data bus with a sophisticated 32-bit programmer's architecture, giving designers a powerful platform while keeping system hardware practical for the era.
