X5R is a Class 2 ceramic dielectric intended for applications where relatively high capacitance is required in a very small package. The X5R designation specifies operation from -55°C through +85°C with capacitance variation controlled within approximately ±15% over that temperature range under the dielectric specification.

At only about 1.0 mm x 0.5 mm, this 0402 device provides a full 1uF nominal capacitance while occupying very little PCB area.
