Original International Rectifier IRFP240 N-channel enhancement-mode power MOSFET in the large TO-247 power package. Designed for high-voltage and high-current applications including high-power audio amplifiers, linear and switching power supplies, inverter systems, motor controls, industrial electronics, battery equipment, and general power switching circuits. This exact device is marked IRFP240 with International Rectifier logo and production markings 5L3Z 9513. Individually bench tested by RF Boneyard.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
International Rectifier was one of the pioneering semiconductor manufacturers behind the widespread adoption of power MOSFET technology. Its HEXFET family helped move power electronics away from traditional bipolar power transistors toward voltage-controlled MOSFET devices that offered fast switching, high input impedance, and strong power-handling capability. The IRFP240 became particularly familiar to audio amplifier designers and service technicians because its high-voltage capability and large TO-247 package made it suitable for substantial linear output stages and heavy heatsink mounting. It was also widely used in industrial power supplies, inverter circuits, motor-control systems, battery equipment, and other demanding power electronics. Original International Rectifier-marked IRFP240 devices remain useful for repairing and restoring older equipment originally designed around this classic MOSFET family.
