Genuine Motorola MRF475 NPN silicon RF power transistor sourced from RF Parts and individually bench tested by RF Boneyard. The MRF475 was developed specifically for HF and CB communications transmitter service through approximately 30 MHz and is rated around 12 watts PEP output under its specified RF operating conditions. It belongs to the classic generation of Motorola RF power semiconductors widely used by radio technicians during the peak CB-radio service era. The MRF475 became especially important as original Japanese CB finals became harder to source because it has long been used as a replacement or substitute candidate for devices including the 2SC1969 and 2SC2312. The 2SC1969 was famously used as the RF final in radios such as the Cobra 2000 GTL, making the MRF475 particularly useful for technicians restoring classic Cobra, Uniden-platform, and related 27 MHz equipment. Historical service references also associate the MRF475 with replacement applications for other older CB RF output devices including the 2SC1307. Vbe = 0.690V at Ib = 5.00mA. VceSat = 0.012V at Ic = 5.0mA and Ib = 1.00mA. IcLeak = 0.000mA. Rshunt = 94000 ohm. Device passed basic DC semiconductor testing with correct NPN junction behavior and no measurable collector leakage. These RF Boneyard bench readings are low-current component-tester measurements and are not an RF output-power test.
