Unbranded UHF PL-259 Male to SO-239 Female Coax Lightning Arrester
$12.95
Unbranded inline coaxial lightning arrester and surge-protection device fitted with one PL-259 UHF male connector and one SO-239 UHF female connector. The metal housing includes a side grounding terminal for connection to a suitable station grounding and bonding system.
This device is designed for installation inline with compatible coaxial antenna feed lines to help divert static buildup and transient surge energy toward ground before it reaches connected radio equipment. UHF-style connectors are commonly found in amateur radio, CB radio, two-way communications, antenna, and general RF installations.
No manufacturer name, model number, frequency range, impedance rating, power rating, discharge voltage, DC-pass capability, DC-blocking capability, or internal protective-element type is marked on the unit. These specifications are therefore unverified and should not be assumed. Buyer must determine suitability for the intended radio, antenna system, frequency, power level, and grounding arrangement before installation.
A coaxial arrester must be bonded to a properly designed earth-ground system to function as intended. It is one component of a complete grounding and surge-protection installation and cannot guarantee protection against a direct lightning strike.
Historical Note: The PL-259 and SO-239 UHF connector family has been widely used for decades in amateur radio, CB radio, marine communications, and other traditional radio-frequency antenna systems because of its rugged threaded connection and broad equipment compatibility.
Pulled from RF Boneyard bench/service stock for practical repair and restoration use.
Pipeline quantities are informational and may change after arrival, inspection, sorting, testing, or donor teardown.
Compatible Radios / Boards
Compatible with coaxial antenna and radio installations using a PL-259 male connection on one side and an SO-239 female connection on the other. Common applications may include ham radio, CB radio, two-way radio, base-station, receiver, scanner, and antenna feed-line installations. Buyer must verify connector orientation, grounding method, impedance, frequency range, transmitter power, DC requirements, and electrical ratings before use.
RF Boneyard Bench Notes
Visually inspected only. Both center contacts are present, connector threads appear intact, and the grounding terminal is present. The unit shows light cosmetic wear from previous handling or installation. It has not been electrically tested, RF swept, high-voltage tested, surge tested, or opened to identify the internal protective element. Electrical protection performance is unverified.
