JJ Electronic ECC83S / 12AX7 Tested Dual-Triode Preamp Vacuum Tube
$17.95
Genuine JJ Electronic ECC83S / 12AX7 high-gain dual-triode preamp vacuum tube tested on a B&K Model 747 Dynamic Mutual Conductance tube tester. The ECC83S is commonly used in guitar amplifiers, audio preamplifiers, phase-inverter stages, vintage radios, receivers, test equipment, and other electronics designed for 12AX7-family tubes. Both internal triode sections tested within the B&K 747 GOOD range, with the second section measuring stronger than the first. Historical Note: The 12AX7 became one of the most widely used high-gain dual-triode tubes in audio amplification, and the European ECC83 designation remains a standard equivalent throughout guitar-amplifier, hi-fi, radio, and tube-preamp applications.
Compatible Radios / Boards
Suitable for equipment designed for ECC83, ECC83S, 12AX7, 12AX7A, 7025, and compatible nine-pin dual-triode preamp tubes when permitted by the equipment manufacturer. Buyer must verify tube type, heater wiring, operating voltage, circuit requirements, and equipment compatibility before installation.
RF Boneyard Bench Notes
Tested on a B&K Model 747 Dynamic Mutual Conductance tube tester using HT 12, sensitivity 89, and socket 29. Triode Section 1 measured approximately 71 on the tester scale. Triode Section 2 measured approximately 96 on the tester scale. Both sections tested within the GOOD range. Difference between sections is approximately 25 scale points. No shorts indication was observed during testing. Heater illuminated normally. Tube is sold as tested good but is not represented as balanced or matched between triode sections. Meter readings are relative B&K 747 scale readings and are not stated as direct micromho values.
