JJ Electronic ECC83S / 12AX7 Tested Dual-Triode Preamp Vacuum Tube
$19.95
Genuine JJ Electronic ECC83S / 12AX7 high-gain dual-triode preamp vacuum tube tested on a B&K Model 747 Dynamic Mutual Conductance tube tester. The ECC83S is commonly used in guitar amplifiers, audio preamplifiers, vintage radios, receivers, test equipment, and other electronic equipment requiring a 12AX7-compatible nine-pin miniature tube. Both internal triode sections tested within the B&K 747 GOOD range. Historical Note: The 12AX7 was introduced during the late vacuum-tube era and became one of the most widely used high-gain dual-triode tubes in audio amplification. The European ECC83 designation is electrically compatible with the American 12AX7 family, and modern JJ ECC83S tubes continue to be widely used in guitar amplifiers and tube-audio equipment.
Compatible Radios / Boards
Suitable for equipment designed for ECC83, ECC83S, 12AX7, 12AX7A, 7025, and compatible dual-triode preamp tubes when permitted by the equipment manufacturer. Common applications include guitar amplifiers, audio preamps, phase-inverter stages, radios, receivers, and vintage electronic equipment. Buyer must verify tube type, heater wiring, operating voltage, circuit requirements, and equipment compatibility before installation.
RF Boneyard Bench Notes
Tested on a B&K Model 747 Dynamic Mutual Conductance tube tester using HT 12, sensitivity 89, and socket 29. Triode Section 1 measured approximately 73 on the tester scale. Triode Section 2 measured approximately 81 on the tester scale. Both sections tested within the GOOD range. Difference between sections is approximately 8 scale points, or about 10%. No shorts indication observed during testing. Heater illuminated normally. Tube is sold as tested good but is not represented as a tightly balanced or matched-section tube. Meter readings are relative B&K 747 scale readings and are not stated as direct micromho values.
