STMicroelectronics L7805CV fixed 5V positive linear voltage regulator in a TO-220 package. This three-terminal regulator is used to provide a regulated +5V DC output from a higher DC input voltage. Suitable for radio repair, CB and ham-radio projects, bench supplies, logic circuits, control boards, audio equipment, microcontroller projects, and general electronics repair. This individual regulator was bench tested and measured 4.984V output.
Historical Note:
The 7805 family is one of the most widely used fixed-voltage regulator designs in electronics. It has been used for decades in communications equipment, test gear, consumer electronics, industrial controls, and hobby projects where a stable 5V supply rail is needed.
