Maxim ICL7660CPA Vintage CMOS Voltage Converter 8-Pin DIP Obsolete
Full Description & History
Original vintage Maxim ICL7660CPA CMOS switched-capacitor voltage converter in an 8-pin through-hole DIP package. Designed to generate a negative supply voltage from a positive input using external capacitors, without requiring an inductor. Suitable for compatible legacy analog circuits, instrumentation, audio equipment, and electronic repair applications.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
The ICL7660 belongs to a long-established family of CMOS switched-capacitor voltage converters used to generate auxiliary power rails in compact electronic circuits. Devices of this type were especially useful in designs requiring a negative supply for analog circuitry without a conventional transformer or inductor-based converter. The original ICL7660CPA is listed as obsolete by its manufacturer. Later variants of the ICL7660 family remain available.
Legacy or discontinued stock no longer in normal production flow. Future supply may be limited.
Pipeline quantities are informational and may change after arrival, inspection, sorting, testing, or donor teardown.
