Full Description & History

Genuine TDK C1005C0G1H150J050BA multilayer ceramic surface-mount capacitors, supplied as one lot containing 200 pieces from original Newark distributor-labeled stock.

These miniature 0402 MLCC capacitors feature a nominal capacitance of 15pF, a 50V DC voltage rating, ±5% capacitance tolerance, and C0G/NP0 ceramic dielectric.

Part of TDK's C1005 series, these capacitors are designed for electronic circuits requiring excellent capacitance stability, low dielectric losses, and predictable high-frequency performance.

The C0G/NP0 dielectric provides a temperature coefficient of 0 ±30 ppm/°C and an operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C.

Unlike higher-capacitance ceramic dielectrics such as X5R, X7R, and Y5V, C0G/NP0 capacitors exhibit minimal capacitance variation with temperature and applied DC voltage.

The standard 0402 (1005 Metric) surface-mount package measures approximately 1.0 × 0.5 mm, with a nominal thickness of 0.5 mm.

Typical applications include RF tuning circuits, oscillator networks, resonant circuits, impedance matching, high-frequency filtering, signal coupling, communications equipment, electronic instrumentation, vintage radio restoration, and component-level PCB repair.

The original Newark distributor label identifies TDK as the manufacturer, Japan as the country of origin, and manufacturer date code 1417.

Lot Size: 200 Pieces

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:

TDK Corporation was founded in Japan in 1935 as Tokyo Denki Kagaku Kogyo to commercialize ferrite magnetic materials developed through Japanese scientific research.

The company subsequently expanded into a major international manufacturer of electronic components, including ceramic capacitors, ferrite components, inductors, filters, sensors, and magnetic devices.

TDK's expertise in advanced ceramic materials became an important foundation for its development of multilayer ceramic capacitors used throughout modern electronics.

Multilayer ceramic capacitor technology employs alternating layers of ceramic dielectric material and internal metal electrodes, allowing manufacturers to produce compact, nonpolarized capacitors suitable for automated circuit-board assembly.

As electronic devices became smaller and operating frequencies increased, miniature ceramic capacitors became increasingly important in communications equipment, RF circuits, electronic instrumentation, and precision signal-processing systems.

C0G/NP0 dielectric technology became particularly valuable in frequency-sensitive applications because of its excellent temperature stability, low dielectric losses, and minimal capacitance change under normal operating conditions.

These characteristics distinguish C0G/NP0 capacitors from higher-dielectric-constant ceramic types intended primarily for general-purpose bypassing and power-supply decoupling.

TDK's C1005 series includes miniature 0402 multilayer ceramic capacitors developed for compact electronic assemblies requiring predictable capacitance characteristics.

The C1005C0G1H150J050BA provides 15pF nominal capacitance with ±5% tolerance and a 50V rating in the miniature 0402 package.

Its C0G/NP0 dielectric makes it particularly suitable for appropriately designed RF tuning networks, oscillators, resonant circuits, impedance-matching networks, and precision electronic filters.

The original Newark distributor packaging carries date code 1417, conventionally corresponding to the seventeenth production week of 2014.

The packaging identifies Japan as the country of origin for this particular stock.

The exact component remains in production but is classified by TDK as not recommended for new designs, making existing stock potentially useful for maintaining established equipment and legacy circuit assemblies.
